When a Londoner visiting the U.S. for the weekend walks into a New York bar and meets a St. Louisan, the result is usually a great story. For Baylin and Jeremy, it was the start of a lifelong journey that would eventually lead them to a breathtaking celebration in St. Louis—one that seamlessly bridged the gap between Baylin’s Italian-American roots and Jeremy’s Nigerian heritage.

HOW THEY MET

It was a serendipitous moment at the American Bar in New York City that set the stage for a transatlantic love story. Baylin, a St. Louisan, and Jeremy, visiting from London, found more than just a cocktail that evening—they found a connection that would eventually lead them to the grand arches and lush landscapes of St. Louis to say “I do.” Their wedding was not just a union of two people, but a blending of Italian-American roots and Nigerian-British heritage, all wrapped in a “luxury garden party” aesthetic that was as soulful as it was sophisticated.

THE WEDDING DAY

Baylin was the epitome of bridal elegance, beginning the day in a breathtaking strapless lace gown featuring delicate floral embroidery and dramatic sleeves. Her look was timeless yet modern, perfectly complemented by a cascading bouquet of crisp white orchids and draped amaranthus. As the evening transitioned into a high-energy celebration, she made a stunning wardrobe change into a sleek, lace halter-neck gown, allowing her to glide effortlessly through the crowd. Jeremy stood as her perfect sartorial counterpart, initially donning a classic black tuxedo with a sharp bow tie, before changing into a distinguished white dinner jacket with black lapels for the reception—a nod to the classic “American Bar” style where they first met.

The couple envisioned a theme they dubbed “Italian Green,” a rich, verdant base inspired by Baylin’s Italian-American background. To elevate the lush greenery, they introduced texture, intricate patterns, and bold splashes of deep pink and burgundy. This wasn’t your average garden palette; it was a moody, romantic, and vibrant spectrum that felt both grounded in nature and at the height of fashion. From the chartreuse table linens to the deep wine-colored florals, every hue was intentional.

THE DETAILS

The design of the day was a study in “more is more” done with absolute precision. The reception took place under the towering, classical architecture of the World’s Fair Pavilion, providing a neutral, stony canvas for their vivid decor. The floral design was daring, featuring oversized, ethereal fabric poppies suspended above the bar, creating a dreamlike canopy that became the focal point of the cocktail hour.

Attention to detail was paramount, with every element serving as a touchpoint for the couple’s story. Fête Society curated a suite of custom elements that brought a personal touch to every corner of the venue—from the bar menu and custom cocktail napkins to the “B+J” monogrammed cups. One distinctive detail was the custom tambourines at each place setting, which doubled as both decor and high-energy instruments on the dance floor.

The tablescapes were a masterclass in texture. Nuage Design and Zhuzh Rentals provided the stunning linens and napkins, ranging from vibrant citrus-green to deep terracotta. Seated STL provided the exquisite tabletop rentals, including amber-hued glassware and botanical-print plates that echoed the garden theme.

When it came time to merge their cultures on the dance floor, Baylin and Jeremy knew the music had to be perfect. They enlisted Spin Society, who partnered with a Nigerian-British DJ to ensure the playlist was a seamless blend of global sounds.

FAVORITE MOMENT

“We loved seeing our friends and family from so many different places and stages of our lives all together on one dance floor. It really was the feeling like wow, all of these people will never be in one room together again, probably ever, how special this is to have them celebrating us.” – Baylin
